Welcome to the ICA Fide Championship! This is a two-day dual FIDE and USCF rated tournament.
Registration Fee and Information: $100 Early Bird Registration, $120 Regular Registration.
Free entry is available to GMs, IMs, and 2400+ FIDE rated players. If you qualify for free entry, please email [email protected] so we can provide a coupon.
Format: 4 round Swiss-System (two rounds per day). G110 d10. Pairings based on FIDE ratings.
Minimum Rating: A monthly published rating of 1600 USCF or 1500 FIDE.
All players must have a valid FIDE ID. Players may request a USA-flagged FIDE ID at this URL: https://tinyurl.com/nebafd36. Players wishing a non-USA flagged FIDE ID must contact the relevant country’s chess federation.
Schedule: Saturday 11:00 am, 3:30 pm. Sunday 1:00 pm, 5:30 pm.
Byes: A total of two half-point byes are allowed for the tournament. Half-point byes must be requested before the start of round two.
Equipment: All participants must bring clocks. Boards and sets are provided.
Norms: FIDE norms are not available at this event.
Late arrivals: Late arrivals will be handled as per USCF rules.
Parents and caregivers: There is waiting space for parents and caregivers where they can keep an eye on young players.
Parking: There is plenty of parking in the lot behind the church, next to a small playground. After parking, please enter through the door with the “International Chess Academy” sign. Then proceed to the second floor.
By train: Glen Rock has two NJ Transit stations within easy walking distance of ICA: Glen Rock - Main Line and Glen Rock - Boro Hall.
By bus: Take 164, 164B, 164E, or 175B to Rock Road at Central Avenue. All stop directly in front of ICA.
