Welcome to the ICA U1900 Championship! This is a one-day, four round USCF rated tournament, with cash prizes available to winners and top players within different rating brackets.
Registration Fee and Information: The early bird registration fee is $40, while regular registration is $50. Registration closes at 12pm on the day of the tournament.
Tournament Format: The event follows a 4-round Swiss-System format. Time control is G30 with a 5-second delay.
Eligibility Requirements: Participants must have a published monthly rating below 1900 USCF. It is highly encouraged for players rated below 800 to not play at this event and to, instead, play at our Dr. Ostfeld Memorial ICA Championships, or at our Glen Rock Quads.
Schedule: Rounds will be held as follows — 2:00 PM, 3:15 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:45 PM.
Byes: Players may request up to two half-point byes during the tournament. These must be submitted before the start of Round 2.
Late Arrivals: Will be handled according to standard USCF regulations.
Parents and Caregivers: There is a designated waiting area where parents and caregivers can supervise young players.
Parking and Directions: Ample parking is available behind the church, next to a small playground. After parking, enter through the door marked “International Chess Academy” and proceed to the second floor.
Public Transportation:
By Train: Glen Rock has two nearby NJ Transit stations — Glen Rock - Main Line and Glen Rock - Boro Hall — both within walking distance of ICA.
By Bus: Routes 164, 164B, 164E, and 175B all stop directly in front of ICA at Rock Road and Central Avenue.
Prizes: Prizes (based on 40 entries) will be awarded in accordance with standard USCF prize distribution rules.
